David Kalik, CHA
David Kalik is President of True Blue Hospitality, a hotel management and consulting company. For more than seventeen years, Mr. Kalik managed the daily operations, marketing, revenue management, accounting, renovations, etc. of eighteen hotels for Charlestowne Hotels, Inc. before starting True Blue as a new venture.  

Mr. Kalik has more than 30 years experience in the hospitality industry in various capacities including; President of a mid-sized hotel management company, Regional Director of Operations of a large hotel management company, Receiver for distressed hotels, General Manager of multiple hotels, Instructor at The College of Charleston and Trident Technical Community College, Charleston, SC and as a Consultant for various clients in hotel development, operations and marketing. Mr. Kalik focuses his skills on revenue generation, expense controls, guest satisfaction, human resources techniques, capital planning and long term vision plans for all properties he manages. He is an actively involved operator, constantly communicating to and directing the managers of his properties to strive to be the best hoteliers and restaurateurs they can be.  

Mr. Kalik has a successful background working with small, independent upscale hotels and condo hotels. Inns he operated include The French Quarter Inn, The HarbourView Inn, The Planters Inn, and The Andrew Pinckney Inn. Condo hotels include The Shem Creek Inn, The Seaside Inn and the Elliott House Inn. He has also worked with franchised properties flying the flags of Radisson, Best Western, Comfort Inn, Days Inn, Howard Johnson, Ramada, Holiday Inn, Hampton Inn, Hyatt and Sheraton.  

Properties Mr. Kalik managed have won awards that include; the number one rated hotel in America according to Tripadvisor.com (2005), a Top Ten Hotel in the USA according to Expedia.com (2005), multiple AAA four diamond award winners, Hotel of the Year by Howard Johnson (2003 and 2005), Lighthouse Award Winner by Hampton Inn (2004) and Newcomer of the Year Award from Holiday Inn (1996).  

Mr. Kalik has a B.S.B.A. degree from the University of Denver in Hotel & Restaurant Management and an M.B.A. from New York University. He is listed in Who's Who in the Hospitality Industry and has served on city, social and charity boards and committees.

Olivia Young
Director of Operations
Olivia Harter Young had served as the Chief Operations and Sales Officer for Fowler Hospitality Hotels for over 18 years before accepting the Director of Operations position with True Blue Hospitality. 

She is a native of Hampton County in South Carolina with over 30 years in the hospitality industry, including all aspects of lodging operations from economy brands to full service convention centers. Her career has offered experience with numerous brands to include: Marriott, IHG, Choice, Best Western, Days Inn, Hilton, Adams Mark and independent hotels. 

Olivia is a graduate of the University of South Carolina with a BS degree in Hotel, Restaurant and Tourism Management and a Master’s Degree in Parks, Recreation and Tourism Management from Clemson University. 

Olivia has served on the Board of Directors for the Hilton Head/Bluffton Chamber of Commerce, the Columbia CVB, and Coastal Carolina Hospital and held multiple chair positions in business groups across the state. Currently she serves on the Tourism Expenditure Review Committee for the State of South Carolina and the Beaufort County ATAX Advisory Board as well as being an Adjunct Professor of Hospitality at the College of Charleston. She was named the Bluffton Hardeeville Person of the Year in 2008 for her service to the business community. 

Olivia is married and has two children with hobbies including the study of Southern history, oyster farming, boating, and reading.
Jennifer Wilson
Corporate Director of Sales
Laura Rushton is the Sales Manager for True Blue Hospitality, and serves as a one-stop-shop to solve all group business needs.  Having the ability to book groups for all True Blue Hospitality properties, Laura is able to streamline the planning process for group leaders by offering a myriad of different rates, locations, and amenities creating a customizable experience for each group.

Laura is a graduate of Trident Technical College with an associate’s degree in Hospitality and Tourism Management.  Being a Charleston native has given her many opportunities to grow in the hospitality industry with over 8 years of experience in both operations and sales management with the Choice, IHG, and Wyndham brands.

Laura Rushton
Group Sales Manager
​Jennifer Wilson is also joining the True Blue team from Fowler Hospitality Hotels.  She has 18 years of experience working in the hotel industry with positions spanning all aspects of operations and sales.  She has had the privilege of working with many brands including Hilton, IHG, and Marriott.  

Jennifer spent 10 years as the Director of Sales, and 6 years as the Regional Director of Sales.  Her mission was and is to determine the best sales strategies to maximize revenue.  She spends much of her time creating mutually beneficial partnerships with businesses to aid in business travel by way of affordable deals and efficient planning.  

Jennifer has served with the Charleston, Columbia, and Beaufort Chambers of Commerce, and has held the positions of Board Member and Ambassador.  

During her free time, Jennifer enjoys spending time with her family, and supports her children in various activities ranging from sports to music.  
Caroline Powell
Digital Marketing Manager
Caroline Powell joined True Blue Hospitality after earning her Master's in Business Administration with a focus in Hospitality and Revenue Management from the College of Charleston.  

Caroline handles all marketing and advertising for True Blue's various properties, and enjoys the challenge of promoting such a diverse portfolio.  She is also in charge of maintaining all social media and e-commerce platforms, and ensuring all information found digitally is correct and up to date.  She believes that customer experience begins before people even step foot on property, and aims to create a streamlined, positive customer experience from start to finish.
